It Makes Sense to Me!

Multi-Sensory

Science Teaching

Let’s take science back to the basics---seeing, hearing, and touching---to make more sense out of learning about nature. Our study of the brain shows that we learn and remember best when we use all of our senses, so let’s teach science scientifically! This workshop demonstrates ways you can teach science through movement-based activities, with rhythm and music, and through creation of artistic representations using 2- and 3-dimensional artforms. Add these techniques to hands-on science experiences and include scientific inquiry methods and you have multiple intelligence, multi-sensory science teaching! No art or music experience or skills are necessary.

You’ll leave this workshop knowing:

new ideas for helping students hear, see and touch science for themselves

methods of presentation that intrigue students with science

multiple intelligence teaching techniques that cover the bases while encouraging inquiry and curiosity

how to create a science unit that is multi-sensory and uses multiple intelligences

Presentation Lengths:
50-75 minutes, 3 hours, 6-8 hours, 2-day

Grade Levels:
