Music and Child Development:
Rhythms of Learning
Current research supports our understanding of how important music is in the early years of childhood. Chris Brewer, co-author of Rhythms of Learning with Don Campbell (pioneer of The Mozart Effect) uses research and music therapy principles to explain how and why the music of Mozart and other music provides essential rhythms for growing and learning.
This training shows you how the integration of music and learning musical skills in early childhood can increase reading and spatial reasoning abilities. During this workshop, you’ll learn about child development stages and critical learning periods. You’ll also gain practical ideas for using music intentionally to help the young child develop. The workshop provides plenty of suggestions for selecting the right music for the right time to build your students’ rhythms of learning. No musical knowledge or experience necessary--this course is designed for all classroom teachers!
