It is amazingly easy and, depending on the music you select, will:

* set a welcoming atmosphere

* create the optimal learning state for your next
activity

* energize students' attention

* calm and focus students

Soundtracks for Learning: Music for Specific Classroom Subjects

These recordings will enhance study of a particular subject. They are related to a specific historical event, era, or topic. Some have lyrics and others are instrumental.

Play these recordings to support your learning activities where appropriate. They will work for one or more of the following uses:

* to "set the stage" for learning about the subject, play during entries, exits, breaks

* to "hold the mood" of learning about the related subject, play as background during study times or creative project work time

* to understand a subject more deeply, play songs and review or analyze important aspects for content

* to activate student learning more fully, create a "learning journey" ---a reading of a story, essential text material, inspiring quotes, important facts about content, vocabulary lists, or a play related to specific subject matter--and use the music as background for the journey

Soundtracks for Learning: Alpha-State and Accelerated Learning Passive Concert Music

This music will bring students into a special state
of relaxed alertness, generally the Alpha or Alpha/Theta brain wave state. This is an optimal state for very
focused learning and especially for "learning journeys"
developed in the Accelerated Learning methods called
Passive Concerts.

Play this music and read a story, essential text material, inspiring quotes, important facts about content, vocabulary lists, or a play related to specific subject matter. Results of this technique show that students learn quickly, easily and in a relaxed manner during these concerts. AND
both teachers and students love the calming atmosphere it creates. Find out more about this technique and how to do it in Chris Brewer's book, MUSIC AND LEARNING, available in our books catalog.

Soundtracks for Learning: Accelerated Learning Active Concerts

Accelerated Learning Active Concerts involve a special
technique that creates powerful learning. The music used for Active Concerts in language courses creates an auditory experience that enhances learning to speak with correct pronunciation as well as understanding context. In other subjects, we use
music that activates the mind, body, and emotions to create a powerful experience and stimulates high retention of content.

Our Active Concert section contains music that works well for this technique. Check it out and find out more about this technique and how to do it in Chris Brewer's book, MUSIC AND LEARNING, available in our books catalog. See our training section to see how we teach this through hands-on experiences!

Music for Creative Thinking and Problem-Solving

Play background music to stimulate creative thinking
and enhance problem-solving. Selections encourage
personal reflection, help participants organize
thoughts, and increase problem-solving skills.
Some selections have different moods to allow the mind to move in varying creative ways. Others set a consistent exploratory environment. Descriptions provide suggestions
for use.
